Our Teachers

Catherine Milne

Miss Catherine has performed extensively in Ballet and Contemporary companies on three continents. She has taught all levels of dance, from children to adults, during her 35 year career. Her training includes the Royal Ballet School (London, UK) and the Juilliard School (New York, USA). Catherine is an Associate member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and has Advanced standing with the Royal Academy of Dancing.

Michelle Dixon


Miss Michelle grew up dancing in studios from the age of 4, and as a teen, studied at the Virginia School of the Arts for two intensive summer programs.  She went on to study dance in college, getting a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance from Jacksonville University (JU) in 2004.  She was honored at the American College Dance Festival with an award for Excellence in performance for her roll in “Likings for Shadows” choreographed by Erica Dankmeyer from the Martha Graham dance company.


After college, she began studying Ballroom and Latin dancing with Ralph Ramrez at Boleros Dancesport in Jacksonville, FL.  She continued to study and teach partner dancing at Boleros from 2004-2009.  She also began competing around the United States in Hustle, Salsa, Swing, and Cabaret.  In 2009, she won the World Open Hustle Championship at the International Hustle and Salsa Competition in Miami, FL, as well as placed 5th in the US and 6th in the world in the Cabaret division at the United States Dancesport Championships in Orlando, FL.


Michelle has been teaching dance since 2004, styles including: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary, Ballroom, Latin, Hustle, Salsa, & Swing.  She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience

with the local dance community.

Sammi Schwartz

Miss Sammi started her dance career at the age of 5 with Miss Kelly, and is now continuing with her 13th year at MKDC. She has had the opportunity to work with numerous world-renowned master dance teachers and choreographers including: Danny Wallace, Sonya Tayeh, Joe Tremaine, Nick Lazzarini, Travis Wall, Ivan Koumaev, Laurie Johnson, and many more. Sammi has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Acronastics, and Pointe with Miss Kelly and is currently in Grade IV of Cecchetti Ballet. She has attended and placed in numerous competitions, competing with the STARZ competition troupe for over 7 years.

She has been acknowledged with many high point awards including Top Teen Solo High Score, Fabulous Feet tap award, and competing in the National Teen Solo Showdown. Sam now attends Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts as a music major.

Being a part of the MKDC family gives every student the chance to learn discipline, ability, confidence, and support that will stay with them throughout their future. Sam feels like it’s a privilege to be a mentor and friend to each dancer and share in their growth and development.

Arielle Poulos


Miss Arielle has been competing in gymnastics for over 18 years as well as coaching for many years. She also has five years of dance experience. We are fortunate to have her as a part of our dancing family and she is excited to work with our students.



Miss Kelly started dancing when she was three years old and was on Miss Kelly's competitive dance team for two years. She is currently a  BA theatre major at Nova Southeastern University. She has been taking voice lessons for 11 years and has been doing theatre for 10. She loves teaching voice and acting techniques with kids of all ages!
